Medical marijuana firm plans job fair in Scranton next month

SCRANTON — Pennsylvania Medical Solutions, one of the medical marijuana growers and processors recently licensed by the state, will hold a job fair Oct. 3 to fill as many as 30 positions for its Scranton facility.

The company will hold three hour-long sessions — at 5:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Platform Lounge, 700 Lackawanna Ave., Scranton.

At each session, representatives of Vireo Health, the parent company of Pennsylvania Medical Solutions, will make presentations and hold question-and-answer periods. Job candidates also will be able to fill out applications during the sessions.

The jobs to be filled include:

• General manager

• Security site supervisor

• Security officers

• Security transport supervisor

• Expert grower

• Cultivation technician

• Chemist

• Laboratory technician

• Packaging tech

• Quality assurance manager

To register in advance: Advance registration is encouraged for the 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. sessions. Walk-ins are welcome for the 7:30 session.

Pennsylvania Medical Solutions has signed a labor peace agreement with United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776 and plans to create new union jobs at the site.
